iPhone on August 22 lands in India and Chile
With a press release today, operator Bharti Airtel announces that the cell phone already cult in the United States and other Western countries will be marketed starting from midnight on August 21st. This is basically the same initiative seen for the first launch in Italy but also in several other countries: some operators will open the stores at the stroke of midnight and a minute just on the occasion of the launch of the iPhone 3G, in any case the official date of marketing and remains on August 22.
Recall that Bharti Airtel, also controlled by Vodafone and SingTel, the main mobile operator in India with just under 70 million subscribers. The list of operators who have entered into an agreement with Apple for India also includes Vodafone itself: at the time of writing, it seems that the multinational will start marketing iPhone 3G in India only in the coming months.
Instead, a few days ago the announcement of the beginning of the marketing of the iPhone 3G in Chile, also for August 22, by Claro Chile, a subsidiary of the Mexican operator America Movil. Interested people are invited to fill out an online form and as soon as possible they will receive information on the various subscription plans. In the meantime, the Chilean operator continues to work on extending the 3G service in the area.
