iPhone 3G few more for a month
Only 27 percent of the Apple Stores in the US still have units for sale, only 13 across the country stores that have iPhone 3G in stock in all three versions: 8 and 16 GB black, 16 GB white. The most difficult model to track down is the larger black one, available only in 18 Apple Stores throughout the United States, similar to the situation of the 8 GB black model present in only 24 stores. The checks of the availability of the iPhone 3G are clear: the smartphone has snapped up and for those who want to buy it now, after the initial binge, there are days of waiting.
According to analyst Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray, the time it takes for Apple to increase orders and to recreate iPhone 3G stocks will take between two weeks and a month. This is basically the waiting time that a buyer will have to be willing to endure before he can get his hands on the new smartphone. According to Munster, the initial demand for the iPhone 3G was even higher than Apple's expectations, a fact that, combined with the launch in 21 other countries, caused a sudden outage of the iPhone. Things are not very different even for the 1,200 AT&T stores, almost all of which are stocked up.
