Before performing the procedure, you will need to enable iTunes to be able to upload your .ipcc file.

  • Open the terminal and type defaults write com.apple.itunes carrier-testing -bool true

– Windows 32Bit

  • Close iTunes
  • Display the command prompt by going to start> run and typecmd)
  • Enter the string C: ProgramFiles iTunes iTunes.exe / setPrefInt carrier-testing 1 and send

– Windows 64Bit

  • Close iTunes
  • Display the command prompt by going to start>esEguiand typecmd)
  • Insert the string C: Program Files (x86) iTunes iTunes.exe / setPrefInt carrier-testing 1 and send

– Windows XP

  • Close iTunes
  • Display the command prompt by going to start> run and typecmd)
  • I nsert the string C: Program Files iTunes iTunes.exe / setPrefInt carrier-testing 1

I recommend,pay attention to the path of iTunes on your computer. If you copy the string and then paste it in the Prompt, pay attention to the quotes, it could insert a different character and therefore the command will not work, then go to insert the quotes manually on the Prompt.

Let's see how to proceed:

  • Connect your iPhone to the computer and open iTunes
  • From the Summary tab, click on Restore while holding down the buttonhalt(Mac) orshift(Windows)
  • From the window that appears, try to select the previously downloaded .ipcc file relating to your telephone operator
  • Restart the iPhone

After doing everything, go to

  • Settings> General> About

and check that everything was done correctly.

You should have version 14.0 of the manager instead of 14.1, by going to

  • Settings> General> Cellular

you will end up with the 3G key in its fully functional place.

NOTE: When iTunes and your iPhone propose to update the manager settings, you will have to refuse, otherwise the modification will be useless.
