iPhone, 100 thousand already booked in Brazil
iPhone promises to be a success in Brazil too. To suggest that the launch of the phone could turn into a resounding bang in terms of sales, the number of reservations collected by Claro: 100 thousand in two weeks.
The exceptional number because first of all Brazil, however populous and with a large base of mobile phone users (about 110 million), is still an emerging country where the cost of the iPhone represents for an important segment of the population, the salary of a year, secondly because at the moment there is not even a date for the launch, although practically everyone assumes that it will take place on August 22, in the batch of 20 countries mentioned by Apple yesterday.
Claro, however, is not even the only mobile operator to have an agreement with Apple for Brazil; Telefonica (through the subsidiary Vivo) will also distribute the mobile phone. Tim Brasil should do the same, even if for now there is no official news about it.
