NTT DoCoMo possibility in the iPhone negotiation

NTT DoCoMo possibility in the iPhone deal logomacitynet1200wide 1

NTT DoCoMo is the leading operator in Japan but, contrary to expectations, Cupertino has signed an agreement for the marketing of the iPhone with the competitor Softbank. Now, in an interview given in Bloomberg, the company of the Rising Sun returns to revive the hypothesis of a feasibility of the contract, suggesting that all is not lost. Ryuji Yamada, president of the company, came forward: "Our position on the iPhone remains flexible".

The Sibylline statement has not been further specified but Yamada himself shed some light on the matter by answering some questions. It was thus learned that one of the main obstacles and probably the reason that explains the protracted negotiations, seems to be the request for personalization of the terminal made by the operator. We would like to remind you that the great success of DoCoMo terminals and i-mode technology mainly due to a series of ad hoc services and functions highly appreciated by Japanese consumers. As for Apple's position, it is clear that any type of operation and adaptation to particular needs and requests goes beyond Cupertino's strategy would further increase development times.

Now according to analysts and experts, the announcement of an agreement between NTT DoCoMo and Apple is only a matter of time: despite having iPhone, the operator now seems willing to give up on customizations and special requests, requests that Apple has always refused not only for reasons of product strategy but also to facilitate the worldwide marketing of the new model as much as possible.
