For now, no Visual Voicemail on iPhone in Italy – Macitynet.it
No visual voicemail for Tim. The mobile operator who, with Vodafone, will have the right to sell iPhone confirms that this service will not be available on its network, at least for now.
In the initial phase – a company spokesman tells Macity – we will not have Visual Voicemail. It is a useful service which we will not give up. Our goal is to activate it at a later stage
Tim, planning the introduction of Visual Voicemail for the coming months, essentially replicates Vodafone's plans. The competing mobile operator has in fact announced that the visual answering machine will not be available in any of the countries where the iPhone will be sold. The launch of the service for expected "by fiscal year 2008"; as Vodafone's fiscal year 2008 will end next March, the waiting time may be long.
The reason why Visual Voicemail isn't activated from the start is unclear. The problem could be in the software and hardware solutions supporting the system or in compatibility with network devices.
