In recent weeks, there have been some rumors about the next top of the Xiaomi range, which will take the name, respectively, of Xiaomi Mi 10 and Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro. With the cancellation of the MWC, the manufacturer has decided to present it in the past 10 hours in China, thus revealing the characteristics of the terminal. Here are the latest news on the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro 5G models.
Over the past few days, it has been the CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun, who has provided some information on the two devices, publishing them directly on Weibo, while in these hours Xiaomi Mi 10 has been unveiled in China. There will not be, at least so it seems, a European presentation, considering that the terminal had to be presented during the MWC 2020, which was officially canceled by the organizers, due to the concerns related to the coronavirus.
However, the two devices are now official and share many of the technical characteristics. Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro come with a chipset Snapdragon 865, 90Hz display, high resolution cameras and superfast charging. Needless to say, the terminals will also feature 5G connectivity support.
Furthermore, both models offer a curved display with a camera cutout on the left side. The glass rear panel is also curved at the edges. It also offers speaker grills at the top and bottom, finally welcoming stereo speakers. On the bottom part it offers a USB-C charging port, while the 3.5 mm jack is not present, tradition started by Xiaomi with the Mi 6.
As for the display, they enjoy a 6.67-inch panel, with FHD + resolution, AMOLED technology, with support HDR 10+. Xiaomi has decided to stick to the 90Hz update rate, even on the Pro model, unlike the 120Hz frequency which is appreciable on the Galaxy S20 series, as well as on the upcoming OnePlus 8 line up.
Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro supports dual-mode 5G connectivity, although there is no word on a 4G only variant. Under the hood, both devices will be distributed in variants with 8 GB and 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, flanked by a UFS 3.0 memory.
As for the battery, Xiaomi Mi 10 could have a nominal power of 4,500 mAh, which certainly will weigh down the device, compared to the current Mi 9, which we remember having a battery of "just" 3,300 mAh.
The main camera on the Mi 10 is one of its main product points. Xiaomi Mi 10 sports a quad-camera configuration with a 108 MP primary sensor, a sensor that had already talked about itself on the Mi Note 10. This will be accompanied by a 13 MP wide-angle lens, a 2 MP macro sensor and a sensor 2 MP depth. Surprisingly, there is no telephoto lens, which would suggest the Mi Note 10's camera as superior to this configuration of the new Mi 10.
As for the camera of the Mi 10 Pro, it boasts the same 108 MP main sensor, but it also includes a 12 MP telephoto lens, an 8 MP telephoto lens and an ultra-wide 20 MP lens. Both devices also support 4K recording, 960 fps slow motion and 8K recording.
Another difference between the models is the battery: the Mi 10 has a 4,780 mAh battery, while the Pro model incorporates a 4,500 mAh battery. However, the Mi 10 Pro also supports 50W fast charging, while the standard model limited to 30 W. As for connectivity, they offer support for Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, dual-mode 5G and NFC.
The 8 GB RAM + 128 GB ROM variant will cost about $ 573, while the 8 GB RAM + 256 GB ROM version of 616 and, finally, the 12 + 256 GB variant will be offered at a price of 673 dollars about.
