Everyone was waiting for LG G9 instead LG V60 Thinq will probably arrive. If to date LG smartphone releases have resembled Swiss watches in some respects, this year's launch schedule may be slightly different than expected. If it is true, in fact, that the manufacturer has accustomed us to the release of a G series device at the Mobile World Congress at the end of February, and one belonging to the V series in the autumn, m this year things could be different. Not only because LG was among the first IT giants to announce that it will not participate in MWC 2020 for fears related to the coronavirus.
It is the well-known leaker Evan Blass, who often turns out to be a guarantee when it comes to pre-launch rumors, to reveal LG's next moves. The same, in fact, has published promotional images that suggest that the device that many thought was LG G9 is actually the V60 ThinQ. This means that the next smartphone that LG will release to the public may not be the G9, but precisely this V series terminal.
The same rumors also reveal some alleged technical characteristics of the terminal, such as the presence of four rear cameras, four microphones, a headphone jack, and a 5,000 mAh battery.
Previous rumors had also speculated about the presence of a larger screen, between 6.7 and 6.9 inches, with the selfie camera housed inside a small front notch. Still, the smartphone is expected to use the Snapdragon 865 processor, with possible 5G variants, while the control system via gestures appreciated on LG G8 may not appear.
However, whatever the terminal soon on the market, this V60 will certainly not be on the stage of the next MWC 2020, considering that the company has already made its absence official, due to the coronaviorus. It is easy, however, for LG to gear up to reveal the device in some separate event, perhaps on YouTube, as Sony intends to do, absent from the MWC for the same reason.
