In this article, we want to explain how you can improve color accuracy, brightness and contrast directly from Windows 10.
We will also offer some tips on how to set the best settings for your particular monitor model and show how both AMD and Nvidia also offer some display control settings.
The good display quality setting starts with a good monitor
If a high quality display with accurate colors is important to you, the place to start the monitor itself. If you have an inexpensive monitor, you may be missing out on better color accuracy, higher brightness, and better contrast.
Below, we've identified three affordable options that are particularly well known for their excellent display quality at their prices. Keep in mind that professional-grade photo editing views can cost much, much more, but here we have focused on affordable options.

How to calibrate the monitor for better colors
Whether you choose to buy a new monitor or use the current one, the next step is to calibrate the monitor using the integrated color and screen settings.
Most of the time, the defaults are reasonable, but after numerous tests from the community, it is often possible to find better settings adjustments online.
Since there are thousands of different monitor models online, you won't be able to explain how to optimize your monitor settings. Instead, I can help you guide you in finding suitable online settings for yourself.
First, add this page to your favorites to be able to come back later for the next steps.
After that, look at your monitor for the correct model name. It may be printed on the front of the monitor. Alternatively, you can press the Windows key and search Display.
Click on Change display settings in search results.
On the screen settings page, click Advanced display settings .
On the next page, click View card properties.
Then, click on Monitor to see the name of your monitor.
If you are on a laptop, you can tell Generic PnP monitor . In this case, you need to skip this step and go to the Windows 10 calibration settings in the next step.

How to improve screen settings in Windows 10
Learning how to improve screen settings in Windows 10 is very simple. We will explain the following steps.
To begin, open the Start menu of Windows and type calibrated display color.
Click on the result that appears. then you can run the Windows 10 color calibration wizard. This will show you if the colors on the display are accurate or not, and if you don't, you can adjust the display.
As you can see below, you will be subjected to several tests that will help you calibrate your range and color balance. Some settings that can be changed directly within the wizard and others require changing the screen settings directly on the monitor.

This mainly limits what can be done to improve color accuracy on Windows 10. You can also adjust the brightness and resolution by typing in the display in the Start menu and by opening Change display settings.
Display quality improvement further with video card drivers
So far, we've explained how to improve the display settings on the monitor itself and on Windows 10. Both of these steps are excellent for improving color accuracy and for getting the most out of your monitor.
However, if you want to amplify things with more contrast, more brightness or more vivid colors, you will have to change the screen settings via the graphics drivers. Keep in mind that these changes can affect color accuracy: if you want the best color accuracy, you should keep the default settings.
There are two main players in the graphics card industry: NVIDIA and AMD. We will explain how to change the screen settings on both.
How to improve display settings further with NVIDIA
To begin with, you need to open the NVIDIA control panel. To do this, click on the button Show hidden icons on the far right of the taskbar.
Then, right-click NVIDIA icon in the hidden icons section. After that, you can click NVIDIA Control Panel.
Once inside the NVIDIA control panel, you can click Adjust the desktop color settings and from there you will have a number of sliders to check.
It's up to you how to set your screen settings here. The addition of brightness, contrast, gamma and digital vividness can make colors stand out more in video games and movies.
If you want more saturation and more vivid colors, you can adjust these settings. (More specifically, contrast and digital vividness).
How to improve screen settings further with AMD
If you have an AMD graphics card, you can follow the steps listed below to further improve the screen settings.
Since I own an NVIDIA graphics card, the image credit goes to AMD support for the images we are using to explain the process.
First, click on the icon icon hidden in the Windows 10 taskbar.
Then, click on the icon Radeon settings in the icon bar.
You will be directed to the AMD Radeon Settings app. Click on the tab View to be brought into the right position.
Once in the Display section, you can click Color for more control over the appearance of the display. Note that this setting is unfortunately not available for all AMD graphics cards.
On the next page, you will have the ability to control brightness, hue, contrast and saturation. To improve digital vividness in games and movies, use the contrast and saturation sliders.
