Adobe has announced an agreement with CartaDigitale, a company active in the supply of digital content distribution services: thanks to Content Server technology, this company will offer a complete ASP solution for the sale of eBooks that will allow publishers to start the electronic commerce of digital content , without having to bear the costs of own management or having to train the necessary know-how internally.
The Adobe Content Server platform allows the secure distribution and sale of electronic content compatible with the Adobe eBook Reader, the Adobe software for reading eBooks from the Personal Computer.
Thanks to the agreement signed with Adobe, CartaDigitale will allow publishing houses to enter the world of eBooks, allowing you to sell electronic books in PDF (Portable Document Format) format from your site. CartaDigitale intends to propose different offer levels: from the encryption of the text and the supply of the platform for the management of copyrights, to the maintenance on its own server of the files and the supply of bandwidth for downloading, up to the conversion of the texts in eBooks and the creation of the eBookStore of the client companies.
