The official launch should be near: the option appears and disappears in the last two beta versions of the app on Android
Indecisions on the horizon. Less than a year after a German site launched the hypothesis of the arrival of video calls on WhatsApp, we are talking about it again, even if the messaging service still plays hide and seek.
In the penultimate beta version (v2.16.80) available on Google Play, the ability to make video calls reappears: as soon as the telephone button was activated, two options appeared for the user, namely voice and video. Even if the call was not in fact executable for all users, the function was at least visible.
Subsequently for, a quick update of the version – therefore ilv2.16.81 – had removed the possibility of video calling, probably in view of an official launch.
