Apple's new iPhone 5 mounts 1GB of RAM, just like iPhone 4S
Immediately after the presentation of iPhone 5, many users were curious to find out the quantity of RAM memory used on the new Apple smartphone.
A few days after the official presentation, the mystery has finally been revealed.
Apple iPhone 5 mounts 1 GB of RAM.
Just like on the previous one iPhone 4Stherefore, Apple has left unchanged the amount of RAM memory installed on your device.
Like iPhone 4Stherefore also iPhone 5 will be equipped with 1GB of RAM, obviously produced by Samsung (like the processor) and with a clock frequency of 1.066 Mhz. To tell the truth, these are 2 banks of 512MB of RAM joined with a dual-channel LPDDR2 32-bit per channel system.
Compared to iPhone 4S, for iPhone 5 RAM travels at 8.52 MB / sec, with a performance increase of 33% compared to 6.4 MB / sec of the previous smartphone, but still less than 12.8 MB / sec of the new iPad 3.
Behind all this, then, we find the new A6 processor, made by Samsung, but designed by Apple. The Cupertino house, therefore, is gradually becoming detached from Samsung also as regards the production of the chips that are inserted inside their smartphones. Starting from next year, Apple will probably be able to independently manufacture and produce iPhone and iPad processors.
Now it remains to be seen how the new iPhone 5 will behave in the benchmarks and in terms of performance with the iPhone 4S and with all other smartphones already on the market.
