In the US Samsung launches a new challenge to iPhone – Macitynet.it
Samsung's challenge to iPhone is called Instinct. A phone with this name and, like that of Apple, completely devoid of a physical keyboard will be launched during the month of June by Sprint.
The announcement of the new product was given today by surprise by Sprint herself, one of the managers that more than others is suffering in the US the visibility and popularity of the iPhone and that to counter the arrembanza of the Apple phone (and the success of At & T ) bets heavily on the Korean manufacturer. Instinct will be the first phone to challenge iPhone in terms of software and hardware integration; the operating system will in fact be designed specifically for a touch screen, which had not happened for other models that had the ambition to compete with the iPhone. Sprint points out that he had a part in the interface design (by Icon Mobile) and even if the hardware-based mobile phone on other Samsung phones, the user experience should be much better.
From what we learn the operating system will be based on Java and will present a series of functions that are not present in the iPhone. These include the support for EV-DO, a 3G technology in its hands with some American operators; in addition it will also be equipped with GPS chip. Instinct will not be able to accept multitouch input, even if it will have a position sensor that will allow it to understand the orientation and perform some software actions (such as scrolling a page) by moving the phone.
Sprint punter on the price; at the moment the cost of the phone has not yet been fixed but it should be below $ 300.
