Sony has announced the launch of the new beamforming microphone MAS-A100, a solution designed for hands-free lessons and presentations.
Designed for applications such as meetings, lectures, presentations and more, this ceiling installation microphone presented as able to offer advanced functions of audio clarity both for the speech reinforcement than for recordings ”, thanks to the combination of beamforming technology and the Intelligent Feedback Reducer function.
The microphone offers a two-channel output for simultaneous recording of a large area, capturing both the voice of the presenter and the voices of students / participants. Thanks to Dante's support and PoE which facilitates installation, MAS-A100 can significantly improve the audio experience in education and corporate structures.
Hands-free presentations with speech reinforcement are possible thanks to an audio processing technology defined "exclusive" by the manufacturer, without the need to use portable or wearable microphones, and without requiring the management of additional batteries and devices.
All this is possible from the combination of beamforming technology and a feature called "Intelligent Feedback Reducer", capable of extracting speech sounds and eliminating unwanted feedback through algorithms and digital signal processing. After capturing your voice, the microphone's Automatic Gain Control feature automatically adjusts the output volume to deliver consistent results regardless of the position of the presenter, for more understandable lessons and presentations.
The two-channel output of the beamforming microphone offers simultaneous speech reinforcement and recording, thanks to dedicated output channels. The microphone also offers a high range and allows you to record not only the voice of the presenter but also that of students and participants. Finally, automatic noise reduction functions are included to minimize the background sounds generated by air conditioners, projectors, etc., ideal for recording lessons and meetings.
The microphone can be integrated into existing AV configurations and used with various products thanks to Dante's support, standard for digital audio-over-IP. PoE (Power over Ethernet) technology is also supported, simplifying the installation and management of the power supply thanks to the use of a single network cable. The Automatic Calibration function optimizes the parameters of the audio processing thanks to the generation and capture of the test signal during the installation process. The manufacturer's free "Microphone Array System Manager" (MASM-1) software helps centralize the configuration and management of multiple microphones in various environments connected via IP.
The launch of the beamforming microphone is scheduled for spring 2020. The price has not been communicated. Further details at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2020, the largest audio / video fair dedicated to system integration professionals, at stand 1-N20 from 11 to 14 February 2020.
