Apple continues to grow in the enterprise sector and SAP – a multinational known for the production of management software, in the ERP sector and other solutions for businesses – has doubled the adoption of Macs in just 15 months.
At this moment about 26,000 Macs are exploited by SAP, most of them (82%) updated to macOS Catalina, data confirmed by Martin Lang, SAP Vice President responsible for Enterprise Mobility.
In 2018, the company deployed 83,000 iOS devices and 170 Apple TVs using the Jamf Pro solution to simplify the user experience between Apple devices. In fact, the integration is so high that employees only need to use an internal SAP app to automate deployment procedures.

SAP created the SAP Cloud Platform SDK development kit for iOS, the Fiori design language for iOS and the SAP Academy for iOS. These are applications that make companies' SAP systems more versatile by allowing employees to access internal data and procedures, taking advantage of functions already appreciated by iPhone and iPad users, such as Touch ID, location services and notifications.
Apple and SAP announced a partnership in 2016, indicated as aimed at revolutionizing the mobile work experience for companies of all sizes, combining native iPhone and iPad apps with the features of the SAP HANA platform. An iOS-specific SDK (Software Development Kit) and training academy has been created to allow developers, partners and customers to create native iOS apps tailored to their specific business needs. SAP has already made several native iOS apps for key business operations. They are special apps, to access critical company data, and which allow you to make decisions and take actions directly from the iPhone or iPad, designed to allow, for example, those who work in the field, in maintenance, to order spare parts or plan interventions, or to a doctor to share the latest patient data with other healthcare professionals.
