[Guida] Calibrate the battery after a flash

febrero 5, 2020

Not everyone knows that after a flash, or after the installation of an unofficial ROM or after an attempt to unbrick using Odin, a process occurs that overwrites all the system files including the "batterystats.bin" file.

This file contains the information regarding the battery and if, during the flash operation, your battery is not 100%, the next time you restart in this file, the current percentage of charge will be reported, making the operating system believe that it is actually the maximum charge. How can this be remedied? We have two methods, but both require root permissions.

    • First method (paid):
      1. upload to your device to the maximum, or 100% without interruption.
      2. Download and install the program "Rootexplorer"(Available from the market or at the end of the article).
      3. Using the program you just downloaded, search for and delete the file "batterystats.bin”Present in the following path: /data/system/batterystats.bin
    • Second method (free):
      1. upload to your device to the maximum, or 100% without interruption.
      2. Download and install the program "Battery Calibration"(Available from the market or at the end of the article).

This application does nothing but perform the first method automatically by deleting the batterystats.bin file in which the battery statistics are reported and is used by the operating system for full charge and low battery information including instructions to stop charging when the phone connected to the charger and the battery charged.

      1. It is strongly recommended to completely download the phone without ever connecting it with USB to the PC otherwise it will recharge, n to the charger. If you have to do something, use Kies Air.
      2. Allow the battery to charge up to 100% without interruption.

Perform these steps 2-3 times, i.e. have complete recharge cycles.
