iPhone in the UK: will it be a boom debut? – Macitynet.it
10,000 iPhone in one day. This is what Carphone Warehouse, the UK's leading independent mobile phone retailer, expects to sell and, with O2 and Apple, the only store authorized to market the Apple phone.
Carphone Warehouse has a very widespread network in the United Kingdom: 800 stores. The estimated 10,000 phones means 12.5 iPhones for each of the outlets, an apparently not huge figure. But if you think that iPhone will go on sale starting from 6pm and that the opening will not last longer than four hours, it means more than three iPhones per hour, a very interesting figure. If you then add to the three iPhones the hour that will be sold by Apple stores (which in the UK are 12), by AppleStore online and by O2, the total of the first day could be really huge.
Carphone Warehouse hopes, thanks to the capillarity of its sales network, to conquer a very relevant part of the phone sales.
