Speech recognition advanced by MacSpeech: new proposals

MacSpeech, a company known for its iListen dictation software, expands its combined offer of solutions for transcription needs, also in Italian. By offering mixed bundles, hardware-software, MacSpeech is proposed as the most updated alternative compared to the competitor IBM ViaVoice, for our platform.

The first proposal, called Plantronics .Audio 85 USB Stereo Headset / Microphone, consists of the iListen software with Plantronics .Audio 85 USB certified microphone-headphones. It is a model with a folding stick that offers quality sound for computers and iPods. This solution allows better speech transmission for iChat, as well as in multiplayer games, VoIP and of course in speech recognition, all immediately available at a cost of 158 dollars.

The second solution is aimed at a more professional user, including in addition to the most recent software release also an Olympus DS-2 digital recorder and a microphone chosen from the VXi Parrot USB, VXi TalkPro Xpress US, VXi TalkPro USB Headset or the already mentioned Plantronics .Audio 85 USB.Indicated as iListen Transcription Solution DS-2 this proposal offers a recording capacity of up to 11 hours, at a cost of $ 269. Wanting to save money, the latter bundle also proposed with the Olympus DS-2 digital recorder, not new, but used reconditioned. In this case, the cost of the entire package drops to $ 239.

For those wishing to begin to deepen the knowledge of the possibilities offered by the program, a starting point could be our past review of the application, dating back to version 1.5.2 of iListen, still at the time of Mac OS 9. We highlight that the version currently commercially, for Mac OS X, signed with the number 1.6.8 and offers exclusive features if coupled with 10.4 Tiger.
