"Virtual" iPhone keyboard, first verdicts from consumers – Macitynet.it
The "software" keyboard of the iPhone seems to be more functional and more appreciated than the numeric keyboards with the T9 system for predicting text. This is one of the conclusions reached by User Centric, a company specialized in analyzing the ease of use of devices, Internet sites, and all types of services and devices.
The survey during which the impressions on the iPhone by ordinary consumers who bought the phone on June 29 were compared, awarded the iPhone's "soft-keyboard". After a week, many of them found it much more comfortable to use than cellphone keypads, proving faster in text input.
Among the rewarding factors for the iPhone are Visual Voicemail and the possibility of using the phone horizontally (mode chosen by most users): it is considered easy to answer and make calls while using other functions, saving a contact and create a card from a call and scroll through the songs using Cover Flow.
Among the less appreciated aspects there is the obligation to write emails and text messages using the iPhone vertically, the use of Google maps deemed difficult and the lack of support for Flash and Java while browsing the Internet.
