During the next edition of the CES in Las Vegas, which will open its doors starting from January 7th, Samsung Electronics will present five projects of its C-Lab Inside program and the products of four start-ups that participate in the C-Lab Outside program.
C-Lab Inside an internal incubation program that, since 2012, has encouraged and cultivated the innovative ideas of Samsung employees. Specifically, the new C-Lab Inside projects that will be presented for the first time at this year's event are: SelfieType, a virtual keyboard solution that uses the front camera; Hyler, an intelligent highlighter pen that digitizes the text printed on paper; Becon, a solution for home care of the scalp and prevention of hair loss; SunnySide, a window in the shape of artificial sunlight and Ultra V, an ultraviolet monitoring service.
The South Korean company explains that from 2012 to today, a total of 40 C-Lab alumni projects have launched fully-fledged, independent startups. These spin-offs include Linkflow, Welt, Linkface, Lululab, Mopic, Monit, AnaloguePlus and Luple.
Four new start-ups from C-Lab Outside will also be attending CES in Las Vegas this year. Created in October 2018, C-Lab Outside is a startup acceleration program. Leveraging the experience of C-Lab Inside, C-Lab Outside expands support to include ideas and innovations from outside the Samsung network. The start-ups selected for the C-Lab Outside program receive financial support, commercial collaboration and the opportunity to participate in IT fairs alongside Samsung.
Allevento of this year will be presented: Circulus, an accompanying robot that uses interactive technology; FITT, an ICT service based on health data; Vtouch, a technology that controls objects with gestures through cameras; is Smoothy, a multi-party video calling service that supports simultaneous video and voice.
