Oscar-winning Patrick Patrick Osborne signs Pearl, the new 360-degree animation for the Google Spotlight Stories app
A tip for tender hearts: prepare the tissues. If Google presented the Spotlight Stories app a year ago, this time, again from the I / O conference, announced the arrival of the seventh short of this pocket cinema, Pearl. With this animation work, the possibility of enjoying 360-degree immersive videos also opens on iOS and directly on YouTube (on Android it was already available).
Directed by Oscar-winning Patrick Osborne, Pearl a short, delicate and profound animation, which tells the story of a daughter and her father on their long metaphorical journey in pursuit of their hereditary dreams, evidently and literally. In the cockpit of a parent and daughter car, they grow, invert their roles and define their relationship, accompanied by folk melodies.
Google Spotlight Stories, created by the ATAP advanced technology laboratory, therefore allows you to view 360 videos through the YouTube apps on Android devices and through the dedicated one in the App Store for iOS. For a better experience, the video compatible with a Google Cardboard viewer.
