Cydia has suffered much criticism over the years from the jailbreak community due to its seemingly out of date user interface and lack of a minimum of modern aesthetics. Precisely these stylistic aspects have given rise to third-party alternatives, such as Sileo. The time for a restyling had come and this happened with the new version CydiaXIStyle 2.0.
CydiaXIStyle 2.0 new version of the jailbroken app
It should be considered that Cydia as a fully customizable platform since Jay Freeman he updated Cydia Substrate framework, to allow changes to the Cydia-focused jailbreak. With this in mind, the iOS developer iOSNJB has created a new version called CydiaXIStyle 2.0.
As shown in the previous and next screens, CydiaXIStyle 2.0 replaces Cydia's lackluster homepage with something that resembles what you would expect to find in the native App Store App. The large preview cards show curated content on the home page and show a wide variety of content, such as "Tweak of the day" and "Theme of the day", among others:
The new version of Cydia does not foresee any option to configure, and since it has not yet been released for a few days, it remains to be seen how often the content on the redesigned home page is updated.
While CydiaXIStyle 2.0 certainly seems to improve the overall appearance of the Cydia app homepage, a problem that is highlighted are the changes made to the tab bar icons, which seem large and clumsy compared to the original.
If you are ready for a new aspect of your Cydia app, you could try downloading CydiaXIStyle 2.0. The tweak now available for free in Cydia's Packix repository and works on all jailbroken devices starting from iOS 7 up to iOS 12 jailbreak.
