There are many causes that can slow down a PC with Windows 10, discovering them is not easy. If you are looking for a fast and immediate way to make your Windows 10 faster, simply follow the tips and tricks in this guide.
If your PC takes too long to boot or when you open programs you notice a general slowdown of the system (even with an SSD disk on your PC), then continue reading this guide.It may also be that you will not notice significant increases in speed, but you will definitely help your PC not to slow down further.Here you can find all the best tricks to make Windows 10 faster.
Steps to speed up Windows 10
Below you will find programs and changes to make that will allow you to speed up windows 10, reachable through this convenient menu:
One of the most effective tools CCleaner, a free program that can clean all unnecessary files on your PC and fix the registry, as well as offering other useful features to speed up startup.
You can download it for free using the following link.
Once installed, start the program (it will appear as in the image below).
The first screen intended for system cleaning. All the programs that need cleaning are already selected temporary files which can be deleted. To start the analysis click on "Analyze" at the bottom; at the end of the analysis, just click on "Start cleaning".
After cleaning the system, go to the section Register, available in the left sidebar of the program.
Again all the items are already selected, you just have to analyze the problems in the registry Windows by clicking on "Find Problems". At the end of the analysis click on "Repair selected problems" to clean the registry.
The program will ask you to make a backup of the registry, which I recommend to do absolutely. If there are many entries, immediately click on Repair selected to speed up the removal of unnecessary entries in the system.
Automatic Start Programs Manager
After cleaning the registry you can go to the most important section among the menus in the left sidebar of the program: "Tools". In this section there are various sub menus, all very useful for speeding up the operating system. The first menu that I recommend to visit "Start".
In the menu there are three tabs (of which only the first really useful to speed up Windows): Windows, Planned processes is Contextual Menu.
Inside the tab Windows you find all the programs and processes that start automatically together with the operating system. If you have too many programs in automatic start you can greatly improve things by selecting the programs and processes you deem superfluous and using the "Disable" item.
Obviously do not disable all the items, for example leave the antivirus icon, any synchronization programs (Google Drive, Dropbox etc.) and other programs that you consider useful.
Uninstalling obsolete programs
Another useful CCleaner entry uninstalling, which allows you to remove the heaviest programs on your PC heavier programs click on the field dimensions so as to reorder the programs by size occupied on disk.
Once you find the heavy programs you no longer use, select them and press "Uninstall" to remove them from your PC.
Adjust Visual Staff and Performance
You can adjust the performance and effects of the system to make Windows faster, especially if your PC doesn't have much RAM, if you don't have a dedicated video card or if the CPU has a few years on your shoulders.
To adjust the visual effects and the graphic performance open the Start menu on Windows 10 and type "Advanced system settings".

In the window that will open click on the "Settings" item present under the section Performance.

From here you can adjust Windows settings regarding graphics and effects.

Choose the graphic effects you want to remove. In this window you can also click directly on Adjust for best performance, so as to disable any graphic effect of embellishment of the operating system.
Program to update Windows 10 with the latest drivers available
Another cause of slowdowns may be due to the obsolete drivers present on the system. If some components no longer receive the driver updates may not work properly with the latest versions of Windows, causing slowdowns and blocks of the system.
In order to update the drivers to the latest version available, you can point to "Driver Booster", a program that can be downloaded for free from the following link.
DOWNLOAD | Driver Booster
Just install it and start it to immediately find the obsolete drivers present on your PC.

Press Scan to scan all the peripherals on the PC and when prompted click on "Install" to get the newest drivers. You can see all the features in this program, in the review we made on Driver Booster.
How to check for file system errors
Another good way to improve them performance to use the CheckDisk feature, better known as CHKDSK. This utility checks that there are no errors in Windows and allows you to find any orphaned files in the file system that can slow down the startup of the operating system or the execution of programs.
To run the CheckDisk feature on Windows 10: open Windows Explorer in the program bar and move to This PC;now right click on the system disk (: C) and select the "Properties" item.
<img class = "lazy lazy-hidden aligncenter wp-image-32695" data-lazy-type = "image" src = "https://www.giardiniblog.it/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Propriet- disk-1.jpg” alt=”Windows 10 disk properties” width=”427″ height=”318″ data-lazy-/>
In the window that appears, take yourself to the tab Tools and, under the section Error checking, click on the item "Check".
<img class = "lazy lazy-hidden aligncenter wp-image-32696" data-lazy-type = "image" src = "https://www.giardiniblog.it/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Controlla- errori.jpg” alt=”check for Windows 10 errors” width=”318″ height=”449″ data-lazy-/>
The system will run CheckDisk for errors; a system restart may be required to complete disk check.
Restore to original state without formatting
If all these tips did not allow you to make the Windows operating system more responsive, you can always restore it to original state without having to format the entire disk. Windows 10 allows you to restore it to settings starting directly from its settings.
Open the Windows 10 Start menu and type "Recovery Options", opening the entry of the same name.
<img class = "lazy lazy-hidden aligncenter wp-image-32697" data-lazy-type = "image" src = "https://www.giardiniblog.it/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Options- of-ripristino.jpg” alt=”Options "width =" 269 "height =" 323 "srcset =" https://www.giardiniblog.it/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Opzioni-di-ripristino.jpg 490w, https: // www. giardiniblog.it/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Opzioni-di-ripristino-250×300.jpg 250w, https://www.giardiniblog.it/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Opzioni-di-ripristino -350×420.jpg 350w "data-lazy-sizes =" (max-width: 269px) 100vw, 269px "/>
A screen of the new settings panel will open, where you can select "To start" present under the section Reset your PC.
<img class = "lazy lazy-hidden aligncenter wp-image-32698" data-lazy-type = "image" src = "https://www.giardiniblog.it/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Ripristino- Windows-10_risultato.jpg” alt=”Restore Windows 10″ width=”454″ height=”322″ data-lazy-/>
The system will reboot and ask you if you want to keep the data on your PC. Choose this option if you have no backup and want to keep the documents, music, images and videos saved on your computer.
Once the procedure has been started, you can no longer go back: the PC will be restored and will return to its initial state, without any errors and without any slowdown whatsoever.
