Three more new ink jet printers from Epson: the Stylus Photo 790, the Stylus Photo 890 (both in A4 format), and the Stylus Photo 1290, capable of printing up to A3 + format.
The resolution of these new models of 2880 × 720 dpi, while the ink tanks have gone from 4 to six therefore further increase the range of possible shades. The new and more interesting feature, however, is the possibility of printing without borders. only on roll as in the previous models, but also on single sheet in various formats from 10 × 15 cm to A3 +.
The printing technologies behind the new Epson printers are always the "Advanced Micro Piezo", which is characterized by the possibility of modulating the size of the ink drop according to the characteristics of the area to be printed (larger drops for color areas full and smaller drops for details), and the Ultra MicroDot, which produces very small drops (3 picoliters for Stylus Color and 4 picoliters for Stylus Photo).
The new printers integrate a microchip that stores ink consumption and displays information on the amount of pages still to be printed.
The list price of the Stylus Photo 790 of 332.500 + VAT, while that of the Stylus Photo 890 and Stylus Photo 1290 will be announced in February when the printers are actually available on the market.
