iWork for iOS and OS X free to new Apple customers

<p>During the presentation of the new hardware and software for Mac, the Vice President of AppleEddy Cue presented the new version of Pages, Numbers and Keynote on both OS X and iOS. All three applications will be available for free to those who purchase a new Mac or iOS device; current owners of OS X Mavericks applications can update for free as well as owners of iOS apps.All iWork applications are 64-bit and offer full file compatibility between Mac, iOS devices and PC (via the iWork for service iCloud), and everyone has had a complete overhaul with new design and new features.</p><div class=

<p>iWork for iCloud also allows users to send files from iOS and OS X to people who don't have iWork software or an iCloud account, and to open and view files in a browser. (Presumably, to edit a file, users will need to register and log into iCloud.)</p>

One of its new features is intelligent text and object recognition; new technology replaces the old inspector and actively changes depending on what you have selected. The Numbers spreadsheet got a new design and interactive chart options, while Keynote contains new effects and animations suitable for working on both iOS and OS X.</p>

<h3>Collaboration comes to iWork for iCloud</h3>
<p>Additionally, vice president of manufacturing applications Roger Rosner explained the new iWork feature for iCloud: real-time collaboration. Cue noted that it was one of the top features requested by users.iWork applications will be available immediately on the App Store periOS and Mac.</p>
