Google maps also bring one of the most popular features to Android and iPhone users
After the recent update for the Android platform, Google maps are also renewed on the iPhone and iPad. With the latest version of Google Maps for iOS, the Mountain View house finally brings one of the most awaited features by users loyal to Cupertino on competing devices: offline browsing.
The new function behaves practically identical to what happens on the Android app: after searching for a city, a street or a particular place in the appropriate bar, just select the option to download data regarding the surrounding area. This package downloads a package that includes not only the raw cartography of the selected area, but also the information necessary for route calculation and step by step navigation.
The information on the state of public transport and traffic obviously remains the prerogative of users connected to the Network, while other news brought by the update – such as the inclusion of fuel prices in the information on the various distributors – are for the time being exclusive to United States and Canada.
