The Quarto d?Altino company, leader in the web-to-print sector, looks beyond its professional success and pays attention to the heart by supporting the fundraising campaign Donate one step to Chad promoted by Acra – Rural cooperation in Africa and Latin America. The project aimed at contributing to the intervention in ten Chadian schools where the buildings will be renovated and an adequate well and toilet will be built. In addition, school furniture will be provided and educational material will be guaranteed for a year or more 5000 children. The awareness campaign supported by the famous Zelig entertainment program and by the comic actors who for 14 episodes invite the spectators present at the Arcimboldi Theater to support the project. Donate a step to Chad will end with the presence of ACRA and Zelig comedians at the Milano City Marathon, scheduled for April 15.
Precisely on the occasion of the marathon, Pixartprinting will support the project by creating very large cardboard boxes that represent the comedians of Zelig depicted while running, placed along the route of the Milan City Marathon on the day of the competition. Matteo Rigamonti, President of Pixartprinting comments: Reading the documentation sent to me by Acra for the presentation of the project, I was struck by the numbers: with an annual income of just $ 240 per capita, a life expectancy of 51 years and an illiteracy rate that affects 75% of the population, Chad one of the ten poorest countries in the world (UNDP data). Almost 4 million children live in conditions of extreme poverty and in rural areas 9 out of 10 children cannot read or write! Donate a step to Chad a truly important initiative for the literacy process of children and we are delighted to be able to make our small contribution.
ACRA for over 40 years in Chad and supports parents' associations that build schools and ensure their day-to-day management, buy teaching materials and pay their children's teachers. Over the past 20 years, ACRA has contributed to the education of 94,000 Chadian boys and girls. There are currently 111 communities involved for a total of 56,000 students in the areas of Gore (Nya Pende), Maro (Gran Sido), Abudeja (Salamat), Mongo (Guera).
