Fix Outlook will not open the problem

I installed Outlook 2016 on a 64-bit Windows 10 system and so far it works well. Yesterday I went to open it and I received the following error message:

 "Impossibile avviare Microsoft Outlook. Impossibile aprire la finestra di Outlook." 

The sad thing that I had this EXACTLY the same problem in Outlook 2010 and I even wrote an article about it over a year ago:

For any reason, the solution to the problem in Outlook 2010 differs and none of these methods worked for me when I tried to fix it for 2016. So read the previous post and if there is nothing for you, try the methods listed below .

Method 1 – Delete registry key

Click Start and type regedit to open the registry editor in Windows.

Go to the following key in the registry:

 HKEY_CURRENT_USER  Software  Microsoft  Windows NT  CurrentVersion  Sottosistema Windows Messaging 

Now delete the Profiles key located under the Windows Messaging subsystem. Restart your computer and try to open Outlook 2010. Hopefully it will solve your problem!

Method 2: install the latest Service Pack and Microsoft Upates

The next thing you can try if it didn't work for you to install the latest Office updates. You can do this by opening any Office program, then clicking FileAccount . On the right side, you will see the production information. Below this, there is a section called Office Updates. Click on the button Update options and select Update now .

This solved the problem for quite a few people, so if nothing else worked for you, permanently install the latest Office updates and Windows updates.

Method 3: Open Task Manager / Kill Process

This problem of Outlook not starting can also be caused by multiple instances of Outlook running without being properly killed. If you go to the Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc), you should only see an Outlook process running.

If you see more than one outlook.exe in the list of processes, go ahead and select each one and choose End process . After deleting all Outlook processes, try restarting Outlook and check if it loads correctly.
