Set WhatsApp voice messages as ringtone on Android

It may happen that you receive a vocal note on WhatsApp that is particularly fun and you want to set it as your phone's ringtone. As you may have noticed, the vocal notes are saved on the device with the .opus extension, which is not recognized by Android. Therefore, the operating system does not allow you to set the WhatsApp voice notes as a ringtone. It exists for an alternative method that also allows us to do everything there. If you want to set up WhatsApp voice messages as a ringtone on your Android phone, all you need to do is download an app. Read on to find out how.

All the audio notes received on WhatsApp are in fact automatically saved on the device and placed in the "Local -> WhatsApp -> Media -> WhatsApp Voice Notes" path. Unfortunately, for, these are saved in a format not supported on Android and, therefore, it is not possible to reproduce them outside the messaging application, with the consequence of not being able to use them as a ringtone of the mobile phone.

If you want to set a voice note you received on WhatsApp as your phone's ringtone, you will need to download a third-party app, called Voice and Audio Manager for WhatsApp from OPUS to MP3, available for free on the Google Play Store. This app, very easy to use, allows you to convert all the vocal notes with .opus format into mp3 files with just one tap.

Once started, the voice notes stored on the smartphone will be automatically identified, which will be automatically sorted according to the day of creation. All you have to do is locate the note you want (you can do it easily by playing it by pressing the Play button) and then tap the appropriate MP3 conversion button (the second button from the left)

Once the conversion process is complete, all you have to do is set the note as ringtone, going intoRingtone settings (the route may vary depending on the brand of the device and the Android version used).
