Google Photos adds shared albums

Incoming news for Photos: it will be possible to create multi-author albums and see the photos on the TV screen with Chromecast

Google Fotofa a step forward thanks to the introduction of new features that the company announced during the Nexus Event.

First of all, the possibility of create shared albums. By the end of the year, those who want to be able to group together photos from multiple users in a single album, useful on occasions such as travel or major events, where a multi-story story can serve. As with albums shared on Facebook, contacts and friends can join the album by sharing their shots. In addition, all participants will be notified when new images arrive in the collection.

Another occasion to take advantage of the function, which in this case is closer to Moments, the one in which parents wanted to share their grandchildren's photos with their grandparents. The latter could be added to the album and be notified of the news.

Second novelty, the one that allows you to attribute labels to the photos, to facilitate the search within the app itself. By choosing a name to be attributed to the photos of the same person from time to time – for example, "sister" – they will be more easily traceable at a later time.

Third, but not least, the novelty that will take your photos on a screen a little bigger than your smartphone, your photos, thanks to the app and to the Chromecast support. You can browse photos directly from your phone, and view them on the TV screen, as well as show animated gifs or videos uploaded to Photos.
