The code of the latest version reveals the incoming features: it seems confirmed the possibility of making calls
The next revolution of the instant messaging client WhatsApp could be a step closer to reality: another indication of the imminent arrival of voice calls, announced in February by the company, but still in hiding, was spotted in the new version of the app that appeared on the Net. The Dutch site Androidworld.nl has scoured the latest release available on the service website, finding some interesting information on the program code new feature coming soon.
Not the first time that an analysis of this type helps to know in advance the future characteristics of an app, and from experience it is worth noting one thing: the fact that some string of provain has been found an installation package is already available does not necessarily mean that the voice calls will arrive on WhatsApp already from the next version. The direction for that, and the developers are working on it quite intensely.
The latest clues collected by the Dutch site show that the update in question will allow the use of Bluetooth headsets, record conversations in progress and reject calls answering with a preset message. Other data collected as images and information on the layout of the screens have allowed the online publication of venture a hypothesis on how the interface might appear, while it remains difficult to predict whether all the features glimpsed within the code will actually see the light in the default definition.
How difficult it is to really understand if the function so expected by users: after all, there are dozens of apps for VoIP calls, while the success of WhatsApp all in the exchange of instant messages – often in place of SMS.
