Facebook is testing a secondary News Feed in the beta version of the app on Android. Some users have noticed a similar feature – being tested – on iOS already in early January. In the latest beta update, the current version of the News Feed remains like the "Home" tab and the new "Explore" tab, it becomes a combination of photos, videos and articles tailored to the users' interests, coming in particular from pages that are not followed yet. The card similar to the Instagram search and its Explore tab. An Explore tab will be full of suggestions based on both personal interests and that of your closest friends circle. The Explore tab appears to be a useful way to let users interact with pages that do not follow yet and therefore normally would not see on their News Feed. The card is also in tune with Facebook's constant push to bring more and more users to watch more and more videos. For now it seems that the card acts as a source of recommendations and suggestions for a user, but going forward could also potentially become the place for less personalized content and thus address the increasingly widespread criticism made against the Facebook News Feed. While Facebook does not makes exploring users and testing new features, the Explore tab was spotted on both iOS and Android devices in the official beta, which suggests Facebook is already seriously considering this feature.
