Online music, Apple at 80% of the UK market
Apple reaches 80% of the online music market. To announce it the same house of Cupertino with a press release released during the day today.
Apple cites OCC (Official Charts Company) data and customer preference for "over 1.7 million songs, revolutionary price, perfect integration with iPod and innovative personal use rights" in support of its claim.
"We are thrilled that music lovers in the UK have made the iTunes Music Store the preferred choice for buying digital music," said Eddy Cue, vice president of iTunes at Apple. "We have the largest catalog in the UK, with over 1.7 million songs and we are committed to being able to offer iTunes customers the most new and exclusive content in the world."
The news arrives on the same day during which other important news could arrive from Apple, in particular in the field of digital music.
