Volkswagen Golf, interface for iPod
Volkswagen is preparing to offer a new accessory to connect iPod to the Golf car's radio. This was revealed by the German website Auto News.
According to what is learned from the article the interface would allow the perfect integration of the digital music player on board. The connector would be located in the glove compartment located on the shift tunnel. From here the reader would communicate with the car radio with a control, depending on the standard equipment, which takes place via the multifunction steering wheel or via the car radio controls. Not clear from the description that makes the site if the interface can also play the titles of the songs on the display of the car radio, but very likely that it is so.
It should be noted that Volkswagen has an adapter that allows both to connect the traditional version of iPod as the mini version.
Auto News says the interface, which has a cost starting at 195 euros, is already available for order in Germany. At the time of writing we do not know if this type of accessory, which would certainly be very successful in Italy given the popularity of the Volkswagen sedan, will also be offered outside the manufacturer's country of origin. It is not even known if the interface will be available for purchase for machines that have already left the factory or will only be fitted if provided for in the order. Usually, in any case, this type of product can also be purchased as a spare part for which assembly can be obtained by a trusted mechanic.
