How to reduce and increase DPI density on Android Nougat

Google recently introduced the option to change the DPI density of the display directly from the Settings application, using a simple slider with large, medium and small values ??that you can easily adjust. If your phone is running the latest version of Android Nougat, you can find this option in the Settings application in the Display option with the possibility ofreduce and increase PPE densityscreen on your smartphone with Android Nougat.

DPI (Display Per Inch) or (Dots Per Inch) – Display per inch. The value set as DPI density essentially determines how many pixels will be displayed per inch on the phone display. For example, if you set the default value as 400, 400 pixels per inch are displayed.

The ideal value for each phone is to set the DPI to the factory default values. However, you can change it to fit your needs. If there is a display problem with the content on the screen during the change, you can change the DPI value to a number lower than the default value until you are able to perfectly view the contents on the screen.

The DPI value could also be increased to meet the need to get more content on the screen. If you change the DPI from 400 to 420, the display will be adjusted to display more content than before. In essence, a higher DPI value means that the contents on the screen become larger, while a lower value means that the content becomes smaller, displaying more text or images as in the following figure.reduce and increase DPI density 1

How to reduce and increase PPE density

Here's how to change the DPI density value on your Android phone. Don't worry, this method works even if your device does not have root permissions.

Just go on Settings-> Display-> Display Size and use the cursor to set a different value to the default one. The value will be changed and the changes will be applied instantly.

If you do not like the defaults provided by the system, you can try this method to enter specific DPI density values. This method also works only on Android phones running the latest version of Android Nougat and above.

To do this, you must first enable the developer options on the device. To do this, go to Settings-> Phone Information-> Build Number and touch the build number option repeatedly, until a message appears saying: "The developer options are already enabled".

Now go back to the main settings menu and open the developer options. Scroll to the end where you'll find an option called "Minimum width".reduce and increase PPE density 2
