The black year of the tablet

The tablets are selling less and less, in 2015 the sector recorded a 10% drop in sales. Only the "2 in 1" hold back the fall

2015 ended in black for tablets. The decline in the popularity of the tablets, certified for several months by all the analysis companies in the sector, was not curbed even by the Christmas season, for which results were registered even worse than those forecast only a few months ago. According to the latest data released by IDC, sales of these gadgets referable to the entire 2015 werefor the first time drop(10%) compared to those of the previous year.

Of the five major manufacturers in the sector the only ones who can be satisfied of its results are the Chinese of Huawei, always in last position in the top 5 but strong in sales more than doubled compared to 2014; Lenovo, in third place, nailed to zero growth while for Apple, Samsung and Asus sales fall by double-digit percentages.

Detachable 2 in 1 products, which instead are experiencing a period of prosperity, partially halt the collapse. Thanks to the entry into the market of more and more efficient, beautiful and versatile models, 2015 has seen a significant increase in the popularity of these gadgets. Their impact on the total results of the tablet category was not enough to save the entire sector, but the manufacturers seem to have already what to aim for this year.
