BQ presents Aquaris M10, the first tablet with Ubuntu

BQ continues the partnership with Canonical and presents the first 2-in-1 tablet with Ubuntu: just connect mouse and keyboard to make it a laptop

Barcelona – The numbers show how the tablet is one of the few consumer electronics products in sales crisis, even if in the category there are signs of encouragement coming from hybrid devices. The latter group also includes lAquaris M10 Ubuntu Editionjust launched by BQ at the Mobile World Congress.

As the name indicates, laprincipalenovit the Ubuntu operating system, on board c the version 15.04, which allows to play the PC experience on the tabletbased on the open source system owned by Canonical, which after two smartphones co-produced with the Iberian company puts the signature on the first tablet.

Just connect a mouse and the keyboard (and if you want a monitor) to take advantage of the desktop version, or keep the touch management to move in tablet mode. A choice, that of the Iberian company, intended for to bring consumers closer to a tool that can facilitate productivity, as evidenced by the Lamodalit Side Stage, which allows you to combine two applications in a single screen in desktop mode.

Iltablet measures 246 x 171 x 8.2 mm and weighs 470 grams; 10.1-inch Full HD multitouch screen with 240 ppi resolution, Mediatek MT8163A quad-core processor with up to 1.5 GHz frequency and Mali-T720 MP2 graphics processor, up to 600 MHz. 2 GB RAM, internal memory 16 GB expandable up to a maximum of 200 GB more via microSD card. The rear camera has an 8-megapixel sensor and 1080p video at 30fps, shared resolution with the front lens that stops for 5 megapixels. Completing the Wi-Fi card, GPS and Bluetooth 4.0, the brightness and accelerometer sensor, while on the body there is a micro USB port, an HDMI input and the 3.5 mm jack for earphones. For the audio, Aquaris M10 uses a double 0.7 W loudspeaker with amplifier and support microphone, the 7.280 mAh battery and should ensure an autonomy that is close to the entire day, although much obviously depends on how the tablet is used.

Available for only in black color starting from the second quarter of this year, the Aquaris M10 Ubuntu Edition lacks the price even though it should be in line with the standard version of the tablet (249.99 euros).
