The proposal of Pavel Durov, already known to the whole world for being the father of the application of instant messaging which has the aim to undermine the most beloved WhatsApp: Telegram. As for the app of Russian origins, also around the Telegraph hovers a veil of mystery: the first impression you have using both services a sense of security and protection, at least from the point of view of privacyIn fact, Telegram is considered by the web sphere very much more secure than WhatsApp, but perhaps for the same reason it is shown as a communication tool intended for the use of nerds or computer enthusiasts only.
What is Telegraph?
Launched at the end of November 2016, it is a platform dedicated to creation of online content, which practically translates into the physical form of a website accessible by computer or smartphone, or a Telegram bot usable from within the IM application itself.
Telegraph presents itself as a text editor, which allows anyone who has something to say to write articles, in a minimal and simple to use web space. The peculiarity of this service is all in the anonymous essence, since, unlike all the other platforms dedicated to content management, to use Telegraph no registration is necessary, n provide the credentials of any type of account.
In reality, you don't even need to authenticate with the nickname or phone number used to register Telegram: everything takes place in the most anonymous way possible, with a level of privacy that is probably never offered by any similar service.
Telegraph, therefore, allows you to publish online articles written and edited according to your needs, but also to obtain a web address to be used for sharing it, both on social networks and in the entire web.
Telegraph: how the Telegram blogging service works
Writing content on Telegraph really very easy and intuitive, easier to do than to say: if you work from a computer, you only need to connect to the address telegra.ph, to be in front of the page for managing the content you want to create. The first thing that surely catches the eye is the sobriety of the web page that appears before us: an almost empty white space, but with all the necessary fields for the purpose.
How did the Telegraph
In this phase that follows the link to the page, four are the main key elements:
- The field intended for title;
- The string for the name of the author;
- The space to be filled with the words that will make up the post;
- The button to publish the article.
The space reserved for the name of the author can be filled out in an optional manner, since it is not a detail necessary for publication. Indeed, Telegraph offers the possibility of creating web articles without having to necessarily authenticate in some way, being able to choose a nickname for the publication post online: the identity of the creator therefore safe.
The formatting in Telegraph
After entering the established title, time to move on to the drafting of the post: the author is given the opportunity to write an in-depth text, relying also on a good text formatting.Baster select the relevant word or period to proceed with formatting: a box containing the icons for B, i, T, t will now appear.
The first allows the user to take advantage of the Bold, or bold type, to highlight key passages of the entire text, or the second to exploit the Italic, better known as italics. Instead, the two T's allow a title to be created or a subtitle, fundamental elements in the creation of distinct paragraphs within the textual content.
There are also two other icons that will be used respectively to insert a hypertext link and a quote.
Telegraph Inserting images
Furthermore, in the content created with Telegraph, it is possible to add images to accompany the textual part, in one of the two methods available:
- Across the uploading the image file from the device, pushing the button with a camera icon;
- Incorporating the image with a embed code.
Thanks to the latter, it is also possible to incorporate other elements such as Twitter content, or a YouTube or Vimeo video.
Telegraph Pros and Cons
Since its launch, Telegraph has been a much discussed tool for a simple reason: precisely because of its character that puts the emphasis on the confidentiality of the service, there seems to be no control over the production of content. And since it is not possible to go back to the signing of the post, if on one hand Telegraph guarantees its authors, on the other it could be a great opportunity for creators of fake news.
Worse yet, Telegraph could be used by thieves to write articles pretending to be someone else, with all the consequences of the case.
However, today Telegraph is a valid alternative to the more complex (and complete) Content Management System also with regard to the management of content to be channeled to the Telegram channels.If, in fact, the owner of a Telegram channel does not have a specific site or blog, he can still produce in-depth articles to share in his own channel for his followers. Finally, articles made with Telegraph can benefit from theInstant View inside the messaging app: it means that the loading of the web page will be fast and without unnecessary waiting for the reader, a noteworthy plus for those who want to offer interesting and informative content to their fans.
