by Cecilia CantadoreIt looks like a sponge, but it serves to lower the heat: the PC designed by SilentPower covered with Copper Foam that allows to dissipate all the heat towards the top and the outside. Everyone knows the constant (and sometimes worrying) background noise of the fans of an overheated PC. The German company SilentPower believes that computers should run silently. So he opened a fundraiser to build a computer with a new cooling system, with an architecture that provides for the total absence of cooling fans and therefore no operating silences. The SilentPower PC has small dimensions, the longest side will be slightly longer the 6 inches. designed to support Windows 8.1 and a TDP 35W Intel Core i7-4785T processor, 2.2GHz quad-core with Hyper-Threading technology, with integrated HD Graphics 4600 GPU. It has four USB ports, 8GB of RAM and an SSD from 500GB. But its most evident characteristic is the copper foam that covers it, an integral part of the product design. The thick coating promises a totally passive dissipation capable of managing the heat generated by electronic components without the use of any fan. A little realizes the dream of Steve Jobs who had tried with the unfortunate Mac G4 Cube to make a perfectly silent computer. The PC will be put on the market at a price of about 699 for the basic version, which can reach a maximum of 1.159, and the company expects to start production in spring 2015. First of all, it is necessary to reach the threshold of 45,000 with the crowdfunding campaign, to move from the prototype to production.
