After approaching Apple, Redmond upgrades its hybrid to rival the iPad Pro. It also launches two new Lumia
On October 6th Microsoft could (indeed it seems certain) present its new hybrid, the Surface Pro 4. The American company has issued invitations announcing exciting news, which the well-informed interpret as the launch of the new tablet PC model.
We talked about the historical event a few nights ago when Kirk Koenigsbauer, vice president of the Office division, took the stage at Apple during the presentation of the iPad Pro. A sign of thawing after 30 years of rivalry: Apple publicly thanked Microsoft for the innovations launched with the Surface (above all keyboard and nib) and Microsoft approached the public Apple crediting Office as the best application for productivity.
This does not mean that Redmond has given up on mobile devices. On October 6, therefore, Nadella could introduce the Surface Pro 4. Which arrives almost a year and a half after the Surface Pro 3 and should not be too different, except for the 12-inch display and the Skylake Core M processor (alternatively Intel processors, i5 and i7). Some rumors also credit a 14-inch variant with 4K resolution and 16GB of RAM, at a cost of $ 1300. Everyone will have Windows 10 on board.
We'll see. There is also talk of two new Lumia: a 950 (5.2 inches with 2560 × 1440 resolution, Snapdragon 808, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of archive, support for microSD) and a 950 XL (with a 5.7 screen). Both with 20 megapixel Pureview camera.
