Are mobile devices subject to the Heartbleed bug? Yes, but changing passwords to apps does not resolve the situation
Trend Micro laboratories have reviewed 390 thousand apps on Google Play and discovered already 1,300 apps connected to vulnerable servers. These apps include:
- 15 banking apps
- 39 apps for online payments
- 10 online shopping apps
As mentioned, unfortunately cambitating passwords will not resolve nothing until app developers and web service providers solve the problem. At the moment the only solution is to use payment and transaction apps as little as possible.
Want to know which apps are affected by the bug? Lookout – a security technology company – has released in record time Heartbleed Detector, application that can detect any apps affected by the problem and even if your Android version is at risk.
