The Indiegogo campaign has raised $ 1.8 million for the creation of a tablet that focuses on multitasking capabilities
We have already talked about Jolla, a quality smartphone with an original operating system (Sailfish) that is proposed as alternative to mainstream brands. Now the Finnish group (made up of some exiles from Nokia) will also make a tablet, and make it by popular acclaim.
In three weeks of a crowfunding campaign on Indiegogo, Jolla raised $ 1.8 million from 13 thousand supporters, almost five times 380 thousand dollars required for the production of the tablet. These are added to a round of financing by 34 million euros, which give the company a more solid base to continue on the path of its mobile devices.
The tablet in question will have a 7.85-inch display with a 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution, a 1.8-ghz quad-core Intel processor, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal memory, a Sailfish 2.0 operating system and the possibility to install Android app.
The next Jolla is therefore in competition with iPad Mini and the tablets of its size, focusing a lot on the multitasking capacity, which for Jolla engineers remains the critical point of the tablet.
We are waiting for May 2015 to get to know him better.
