Whatsapp introduces "Catalogue"within the version Business, on the Play Store from January 2018. With this new feature, users will have the option of browse a real virtual showcase taken care of by companies with the intention of showing their goods to customers.
It is a small "revolution" for WhatsApp: before the introduction of the Catalog, in fact, the photos of the products could only be loaded one at a time. Now, however, possible buyers will find all the information they need directly from the chat and without having to necessarily visit the respective websites.
For each item in the catalog, companies can add different information, including:
- description of the item for sale
- product code
To avoid unnecessary storage space on corporate devices and those of customers, all the photos and related information will be stored in apps for Android and iOS.
The Catalog will be available at first in Brazil, Germany, India, Indonesia, Mexico, the United Kingdom and the United States, to then extend into further countries in the coming months. Taking into consideration the presence of examples in Italian, it cannot be ruled out that the function may soon arrive also in Italy.
