Amazon Women in Innovation, the scholarship to support female students

For the second consecutive year, Amazon will award the Amazon Women in Innovation scholarship, created to help young women from less advantaged contexts satisfy their ambition to work in innovation and technology.

The scholarship supporter company in the universities of the cities where their Development Center is located, the Corporate Offices and Distribution Centers: the Polytechnic of Turin, the Polytechnic of Milan and, from this year, also the University of Rome Tor Vergata.

All scholarships will be offered for the 2019/2020 academic year. The project is part of the Amazon in the Community program, which aims to help young people succeed in the digital economy throughout Italy and the world.

Amazon Women in Innovation will therefore offer a loan of 6,000 euros per year, for three years, to three female students: one who intends to obtain a degree in Mathematical or Computer Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano, another enrolled in the degree course in Computer Engineering at the Politecnico di Torino and a third one enrolled at the Faculty of Computer Engineering or Internet Engineering of the University of Rome Tor Vergata.

The universities will choose the winners based on specific parameters of merit and income, as specified in the tender notice. In addition to financially supporting female students for three years, Amazon will provide a mentor to help develop skills useful for future work, such as, for example, techniques to create an effective curriculum or face a job interview at Amazon or in others companies.
